This song, "Where Do We Come From?"was written by mother and son Trina Basu and Akash Basu Ramamurthy. It celebrates the beautiful diversity of life on earth and asks you to reflect on your own story while recognizing the interconnectedness between humans and Mother Nature. It includes a beautiful translation in Tamil by celebrated vocalist, Roopa Mahadevan. Roopa Mahadevan's ability to authentically bring in Carnatic raga shapes and notes not often heard in children's music in the west, creates a new sense of home, in which we acknowledge that our communion with each other is diverse, creative, and ongoing, like the life-giving nature that surrounds us.
