Where do my feelings live in my body?
Feelings can travel so far
From the top of my head
to the top of my tongue to the top of the drum in my heart
I feel them here I feel them there
Sometimes I don’t really know where
Happy then sad, silly then shy
I trust what I feel though I may not know why
Where do my feelings live in my body?
Feelings can travel so far
From the front of my belly
to the back of my knees to the soles of my feet to the stars
Changing like clouds just passing by
I trust what I feel though I may not know why
Where do my feelings live in my body?
Feelings can travel so far
From the stomp of my feet
to the clap of my hands to the smile on my face tot the stars
I feel them here I feel them there
Breathing real slow can help me find where
Changing like clouds just passing by
I trust what I feel though I may not know why

Two legged and four legged
And winged and finned and rooted in the ground Two legged and four legged
Winged and finned and rooted in the ground
All of Creation weya hey All of Creation weya hey All of Creation weya hey Weya hey oh
Now let's climb the mountain! Mountains lakes and rivers and trees Mountains lakes and rivers and trees The same as you and me
All of Creation weya hey All of Creation weya hey All of Creation weya hey Weya hey oh

Baby turtle wakes up and looks around
She hears the start of the morning sounds
She lifts her head up with the sun
She knows its time to have some fun
Ready to be ready for joy to come
Just like me - Just like me - Just like me...
Little birdie spreads his feathered wings
He wants to fly through tallest trees
Got to learn first how to fly
Eat to grow stronger every bite
So excited to try and try
Just like me - Just like me - Just like me...
Me and my best friends we love each other
And we don’t have the same skin color
Our hair and eyes are different too
We share so many things its true
They love to sing and laugh, ice cream and bubble baths
WOW!
Just like me - Just like me - Just like me...
And you are beautiful and you are love And you are beautiful and you are love And you are beautiful and you are love And you are beautiful and you are love
Just like me - Just like me - Just like me...

This is the sun up in the sky
I don’t know how I don’t know why But I believe
This is the moon
We go round and round
But It sometimes looks up and it sometimes goes down And I believe
This is your baby
This is we
Can’t tell you all about how we came to be But I believe
Oh I believe
This is the sun Up in the sky
I don’t know how I don’t know why But I believe

Teeth coming in and teeth goin out Teeth coming in and teeth goin out Teeth coming in and teeth goin out It’s time to make that change
Just like the moon shines in your room
Just like the moon shines in your room Sometimes she’s crescent sometimes she’s full She knows when its time to make that change
Just like the leaves fall from their tree
Just like the leaves fall from their tree
They grow back again sometime in spring They know when its time to make that change
I met a caterpillar and asked him why He turns into a butterfly
To which he replied I always know When its time to make the change
Teeth coming in and teeth goin out Teeth coming in and teeth goin out Teeth coming in and teeth goin out It’s time to make that change
You’ll know when It’s time to make that change It’s time to make that change

Even though I sing so high
Even though I'm singing low
We can make the music grow together
Even when I play too fast
Even when I get behind
We can make the music last together
There are many parts you see
One for you and one for me
You don’t have to know them all To make the music sound so sweet
There are many parts to play
Many songs to make up too
All the very best are made together

Listen 4 x 4
I listen to the sound of the rain kiss the earth And I hear the song of my birth
I listen to the sound of the sun kiss the earth And I hear the song of my birth
I listen with my heart and I listen with my bones I listen with my mind and my toes I listen with my fingers - my nose and my ears - I listen cause I know that I’m here

Listen - can you hear a butterfly dance? Very good! I knew you could!
Listen 4 x 4
I listen to the leaves dancing n the trees And the grass giggling in the breeze

Many years from now
If we meet again
Will you remember me?
I wished, wished, wished
I might be a bird.
I wished, wished, wished

If we meet again
Will you remember me?
Many years from now
If we hold hands again
Can we make it last?

Where do we come from? Many places
Where do we come from? Different races
By the oceans, the forests, the deserts, the rivers
From the cities to the village the foothills of the mountains
We all have a heart
Breathe the same air from the trees, under the same sky moon and sun
VERSE 2 (with English response)
Yaaru nam uravu?
Who are our friends and relatives?

What are our races?

From the builders and the growers

from the dreamers and the dancers

We all have a heart
Breathe the same air from the trees under the same sky moon and sun

Skipping along to a chickadee's song in the woods beyond the meadow Hand-in-hand -- a faithful friend -- you lead, and I will follow
Here, or there
The winds of yonder kick up the leaves
and rustle the trees
and tumble down the trail
O, Wild One O, Wild One
Bring a pebble, or take a pebble, and throw it in the river
One is a wish, and two is a kiss, and three for something better On and on the ripples of your love catch in the sun
and everyone is watching as you grow
O, Wild One
O, Wild One a thousand hands to hold you Day and night
Day and night
And, if your days are too long, wait for the eyes of the sun to soften and fall in the hands of the moon
that's where I'll find you
O, Wild One a thousand hands to hold you Hold you day and night

THE BRUCES RELEASE STORY OF THE SKY
A MULTI-CULTURAL FAMILY ALBUM CELEBRATING INTERCONNECTION & THE NATURAL WORLD - AUGUST 4, 2023
On August 4 comes Story of the Sky, the debut family album by husband and wife team Morley and Chris Bruce. The collection is a multi-cultural and inter-generational treasury of nineteen original songs in praise of interdependence and the natural world.
Story of the Sky is a beginning-of-life narrative and moral compass project. Its diverse musical blend creates a soothing yet robust listening experience full of gentle guidance for today’s youth. Collectively it is a celebration of what is best in us and an antidote to destructive and self-destructive learned habits with which no child is born.
The Bruces invited friends from around the world to contribute original songs, poems, and phrases. Artists include David Amram, Toshi Reagon, Maria Popova, Martha Redbone, Tenzin Choegyal, Lokua Kanza, Jon Cowherd, Tendor Dorjee, Roopa Mahadevan with Trina Basu & Arun Ramamurthy, Roopa Mahadevan, Kenita Miller & Justin Hicks, Annie Sumi & Travis Knapp. The album features voices ranging in ages from two to ninety-two and has many languages including English, Tibetan, Tamil, Spanish, and Lingala, as well as a song with 22 languages.
On the title track “Story of the Sky” Morley invites us in acappella tradition, into the album’s theme of our interdependence with the natural world. She is followed by a simple song, “Feelings” featuring 6 year old Akash Ramamurthy. Martha Redbone leads on “All of Creation” which is a celebration of nature and the cycle of harmony. “L.O.V.E.” is a dreamy duet / chant from Morley and 92 year old Maestro David Amram that speaks to the beauty of seeing the best of ourselves in each-other. The upbeat "Just Like Me” features 7 year old Kaira Ramamurthy and joyously looks at finding our reflection in one another and nature. Toshi Reagon’s warm “This Is the Sun (Song for Ruby)” was written to celebrate the arrival of a friend’s child into the circle of her family, evoking the vastness and balance of our place in the universe. Jon Cowherd sings and plays his piano blues jam “Teeth Song” a song about the cycles of change.“Together” features Justin Hicks and his wife, Tony nominated Kenita Miller on a sweet song with rich harmonies about working together and “I Listen” inspires a young mind’s moral imagination.
“Berceuse” from award winning Congolese-Rwandan Lokua Kanza sung in Lingala, translates to “love your friends, take care of this world in which you live”. “I Love You River” is in praise of water, the river of all life. The Afro-Peruvian "Niñe Milagro" by Claudia Cuentas is a lullaby celebrating all children, acknowledging they are a miracle for coming to Earth at this time of great need. With “I Fly to You”, one of Tibets leading musicians Tenzin Choegyal joins The Bruces singing about grief and the eternal bond
formed by unconditional love. “Where Do We Come From?” written by mother and son Trina Basu and Akash Ramamurthy, celebrates the beautiful diversity of life on earth and asks you to reflect on your own story while recognizing the interconnectedness between us and Mother Nature. It includes a beautiful translation in Tamil by singer Roopa Mahadevan. The thoughtful “Song for the Wild One” by Travis Knapp and Annie Sumi is an expression of hope that children being born now will feel a deep connection with the natural world. The joyful “21 Blessings” comes from Tendor Dorjee sung in Tibetan, and “Everybody Needs Care” addresses dignity within the spectrum of ability, inspired by a family friend. Closing out the collection is “Sun Is Shining In My Heart” featuring cellist Dave Eggar and “Orbital Motion” a poem written for this project by Maria Popova.
Chris Bruce is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, writer, recording and touring musician. He is a longtime collaborator with Meshell Ndegeocello, My Brightest Diamond, Toshi Reagon, Lizz Wright, Seal, Trevor Horn, and many more.
Morley is a celebrated singer- songwriter, producer, and educator, who has released six solo artist albums under the auspices of Sony and Universal, as well as independently. Her music appears on major network television shows, in commercials, and in several human rights documentaries. Morley performs all over the world, both as a soloist and with her self-titled band. Most recently, she spearheaded the successful fundraiser, Borderless Lullabies, which continues to be a source of revenue for KIND: Kids-In- Need-Of-Defense.
